In the quran only, where are the punishment(s) for zinna, and conditions for the punishment?

Thanks Mohammed. Does the quran itself state that the punishment can be execution? Or does it only mention flogging?

- Am I right to say there’s no death penalty for adultery in the quran, only 100 lashes to all adulterers regardless of marital status? I’m thinking with full sincerity, but I just find it so strange if the death penalty for adultery wasn’t in the quran yet is widely practiced, but that crucifixion for heresy is in the quran yet isn’t practiced. It would mean Muslims are abiding by the hadiths but not by the quran.

Answer by Mohammed
The woman and the man guilty of adultery or fornication,- flog each of them with a hundred stripes: Let not compassion move you in their case, in a matter prescribed by Allah, if ye believe in Allah and the Last Day: and let a party of the Believers witness their punishment. [24:2]

The accused, before the accusation, must be known as a practising Muslim.
The accused must possess common sense. The accused must not have been in an intoxicated state of mind while the act was committed.
The accused must be an adult.
The accused must have committed adultery of his/her own free will.
There must be four male witnesses (or pieces of evidence) to support the accusation (of sexual penetration).
Additional fulfillment of the following requirements is necessary for an execution:

The accused must be free and not a slave.
The accused must be married (according to Islamic Law), and must enjoy normal sexual relations with his/her spouse (and therefore have a legitimate means of satisfying his/her sexual desires) prior to committing adultery.
The accused must not be pregnant or be responsible for breast feeding a child.

So Mohmmed…if the accused is in n intoxicated state…it’s all good?…seems pointless that that criteria is included when intoxication is against islam.

  2. Shereen Says:

The verses for the witnesses :

    # Those who accuse married women of adultery, then fail to produce FOUR witnesses, you shall whip them eighty lashes, and do not accept any testimony from them; they are wicked. (24-4)

    # Those who commit adultery among your women, you must have FOUR witnesses against them, from among you. (4–15)

The verse for the punishment :

    # The adulteress and the adulterer you shall whip each of them a HUNDRED lashes. Do not be swayed by pity from carrying out GOD’s law, if you truly believe in GOD and the Last Day. And let a group of believers witness their penalty.( 24–2)

    - Quran punishment for the adulterous was general , no mention if the one was single or married but the prophet peace be upon him specified that it is 100 lashes for the single and stoning to death for the married .

    - Four Witnesses are required according to the Quran , but to see them in the actual act is according to the sunna because prophet Muhamed (peace be upon him) asked someone who came to him to confess if he had a complete intercourse with her or not that means witnesses has to see that for their testimony to be accepted .

  3. Dropshortandduck Says:

A young girl was hung publicly by using a very large mobile crane to host her up under the pretence it was not going to be carried out. Her punishment was to be raped by 5 Muslim men who should have known better to touch a virgin in the first place. By the way they got off scott free as usually.

Well publicised Human Abuse by Iran last year and if any law abiding Muslim condones this type of capital punishment should be hung themselves from the same crane.

  4. Mohammad K Says:

those who say that punishment is different for married and unmarried women are TOTALLY WRONG .
Allah does not prescribe punishment on marital status, adulterer or adultress get the same punishment regardless of marital status.
they will receive the same punishment
