Wow!! You surely have so many questions.
I’ll just answer what I know, but of course, I don’t know everything, so you should always return to Quran and Islamic books, and take care, sometimes terms are played with in translations.

First of all, What made me choose Islam? In the begining it was only because I was born a Muslim, because my parents are.. But then, the more I knew about Islamic religion, the more it all made sense to me, this entire life.

2. It affected me when I truly believed in Islam, that I was a better person to everyone around me, and I cherished my family, and been there for my colleagues, Islam is all about love, forgiveness, peace, support, helping others, and a lot more of other beautiful things that tend to fade in our world

3. Actually not much.. I have always tended to do the right thing and void the wrong thing, so, it only helped me figure out more right things and wrong things, made me concious in other words.

4. I feel very peaceful. I was depressed, lonely, wondering what life is all about. I’ve always believed there’s God, and that I’m a muslim, but didn’t really FEEL it until that one night when everything suddenly made sense to me. And since then, the more I follow the religion, the more I feel very comfortable and at ease, as if the world is smiling back at me, as if God is making it easier through my journey.

5. Well, I’m Gay myself.. And in Islam (and of course a lot of other religions) practicing gay sex is FORBIDDEN. Actually, in Islam, it’s considered one of the GREATEST SINS to have gay sex. So it made me aware that my sexuality is not a “bless”, it’s more like blindness, a big test that I have to go through. So, it made it harder for me to think of practicing my normal life of having a boyfriend and that happy home and everything I wished for, it’s like, this dream is being shaken right now, now that I’m concious it’s wrong.

6. The more I read the Quran and understand it, the more I see how great this religion is, and how true it is. It’s all about stories, and those stories make you learn a lot of positive things in life. And when you find so much positivity while you’re reading, you tend to have more faith and read more and more. Like a very interesting book that you wish it would never end.

7. Islam basics? You mean, basic rules? Well.. These are five, 1. To believe that there’s only one God (Allah) and to believe that Mohamed *puhs* is the last messenger of God (Allah). 2. Pray to God five times a day. 3. “I’m not sure how to translate this, you have to go back to an expert” To pay El-Zakah (You give the poor people from your money or things regularly) 4. To fast the holly month of Ramadan. 5. To go to Al-Hajj if you can afford it (Go to Mecca following some rules of Al-Hajj, still not able to translate that to English)…. I myself believe that every other religion is all about love and peace, like Islam, only that other religions don’t believe in the prophit Mohamed as God’s messenger or that anything he said is true, so that what differs in Islam to me.

8. I can’t recall all holidays.. But, we have 3 days of feast right after Ramadan ends, when we eat “Ka’k”, it’s like sugar biscuits. We also have 5 days of feast, when we sacrifce a cheap and eat it, and of course, give all the poor people as much as you can from its meat, also there’s the New Year’s Eve of the Islamic calender, and more actually.. All a bunch of nice traditions and feasts.

9. I haven’t read the bible, so I am not aware of the differences.. But as I told you earlier, the Quraan is a very interesting book, it’s all full of nice stories that happened in the past, and is repeated over the years, so when you read it, you feel like Allah is telling you exactly what will you face in your life and how you can be a good person out of it. It’s a flawless book, and predicts a lot of things that happens until now.

10. I never went that far.. I always believed my relationship with God is personal, and only God who knows what’s inside me and if I’m evaluated as a good or bad person, and also, never thought of any other Muslim or any other person who believes in other religions as much different as myself, all are related to God in some way personal that I can not judge. And then, when I was touched by Islam, I realized that this is actually in the Quraan, that you shouldn’t judge any person by his religion, everybody’s got his own religion, so you stick your faith, and I stick to mine.

11. This I can not answer, just as I told you, never read the bible, so I can not know.

Good luck :-)
