Praise be to Allaah.

The scholars explained that these two verses, and other similar verses, have to do with those from whom the jizyah may be taken, such as Jews, Christians and Magians (Zoroastrians). They are not to be forced, rather they are to be given the choice between becoming Muslim or paying the jizyah.

Other scholars said that this applied in the beginning, but was subsequently abrogated by Allaah’s command to fight and wage jihad. So whoever refuses to enter Islam should be fought when the Muslims are able to fight, until they either enter Islam or pay the jizyah if they are among the people who may pay jizyah.

1) Muhammad had no witnesses to his revelations in the Hira cave, and yet we have to believe what he saw back then was an angel?.
2) Muhammad was unable to perform miracles according to the Quran, and yet we have to believe he is a prophet.?
3) Muhammad was afraid of the eclipse and feared for his own judgement & salvation, and yet we have to believe he can lead us to salvation?

4) The quran’s claims to be written during the time of muhammad when the written form of arabic was only formed more than 100 years later AFTER his death, yet we have to believe the quran came from god?
5) The quran used to claim that zulqairnian was alexander the great until people realise that alexander the great died a non-muslim and in his youth and not in old age like what the quran claims and we have to believe the quran is truthful?
6) The quran writes about how muslims are to be killed if they leave islam yet we are told that islam is a peaceful religion?

7) The angel was even afraid to enter the house with a dog in it and yet we are told that the angel with muhammad is all powerful? 8) The angel failed to appear to warn muhammad of the poisoned food that painfully killed muhammad and we are told to believe that allah has foresight?
9) The angel encouraged muhammad to mate with ayesha (9 years old) and zainab (zaid’s wife) and we are told to believe that is morality?

When the hadiths speak of the glorious days of muhammad we are told to believe in them, yet when these same hadiths speaks of the crimes, robbery, rape, murder, decapitation & pedophilia committed by muhammad and his men we are told to reject.

We are told to accept all these things even though it is so difficult to accept them.

WHY? Why must we muslims numb our minds to coherent & logical thinking in order to remain in islam?
I started thinking this way ever since I tried to see islam from the other side of the fence. I now realised that as long as I don’t step over, I will never see the fault in this religion because we are prohibited from questioning these ‘faults’.
susan, if you know the details of zulqairnain, you will know why our forefathers insist that he was alexander the great.
susan, you got that right because NOW we all know the truth. If you had lived back in the time of muhammad, the story back then would be very different. Just do a simple search and you will know that we used to INSIST that zulqarnain is alexander the great.

Both, the Bible and the Quran mention Prophet Yusef’s (Joseph) dream about the Sun and the Moon, and eleven stars bowing to him.

“(Remember) when Yusuf (Joseph) said to his father: “O my father! Verily, I saw (in a dream) eleven stars and the sun and the moon, I saw them prostrating themselves to me.”
[Quran 12:4]

“Then he (Joseph) had another dream, and he told it to his brothers. “Listen,” he said, “I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”
[Genesis 37:9]

The Quran mentions this dream at the beginning of Chapter Yusef, and shows how it was fulfilled at the end of the story. The Bible, however, mentions the dream, but never shows that it was a fulfilled prophecy. The reason why the Bible is not able to fulfill this dream is due to an error, where the mother of Yusef supposedly died when she bore Benyameen. “And as she was having great difficulty in childbirth, the midwife said to her, “Don’t be afraid, for you have another son.” As she breathed her last–for she was dying–she named her son Ben-Oni. But his father named him Benjamin. So Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem). [Genesis 35:17-19]

Rachel is the mother of Joseph and Benjamin; she died two chapters before Joseph had his dream.
The Quran never says that she died, the proof for that is at the end of the story where Yusef raises both of his parents on his throne.

“And he raised his parents to the throne and they fell down before him prostrate. And he said: “O my father! This is the interpretation of my dream aforetime! My Lord has made it come true! He was indeed good to me, when He took me out of the prison, and brought you (all here) out of the bedouin-life, after Shaitan (Satan) had sown enmity between me and my brothers. Certainly, my
Lord is the Most Courteous and Kind unto whom He will. Truly He! Only He is the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.” [Quran 12:100]

Bible writers make a mistake when they claim that Joseph’s mother died before the adventures of Joseph happened. The Quran ends this kind of falsehood which might have been injected to the Bible intentionally or unintentionally, and corrects the Bible:

1) Jospeh’s dream was a perfect prophecy.
2) His mother never died after giving birth to Benyameen.
3) The dream was fulfilled when his father (The Sun) and his mother (the Moon) and his eleven brothers (stars) bowed down to him.

For Christians who claim the Quran was copied or Muhammad copies from the Bible, how was he able to omit this? And If Christians claim that this prophecy was indeed fulfilled in the Bible, could you please show proof?
I Have A Bridge For Sale: There is no intention here of insulting anyone. Rachel is Joseph’s mother. In Genesis 35:17-19, Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem). Its about analyzing and being reasonable with the deductions. You may not have said or believed that Muhammad copied from the Bible, but hundreds of thousands of Christians believe that. That notion needs to be corrected.

All three Abrahamic religions share the same root. Arguing about minute differences in the three are like aruging over whose imaginary friend said this and that. Kind of pointless. Just like a religious war.

Really angry over guy who has shop near me. He is muslim bloke who I thought was okay to start with. But more I spoke to him the more he started putting Britain down, how the British behave and how Pakistan is a much better country. I laughed this off for while, but then it got annoying. He stated that when he had made enough money he was going to move back to Pakistan. I wa friendly enough with him to ask ” Why if you hate Britain so much do you live here? It can’t be that bad!” He then accused me of being racist!!! He also doesn’t agree with British meat and eats only his special meat..but sells British meat in his shop. When I mentioned this to him, he said he had to make money….great beliefs!! Also he sells porn mags..isn’t that against his beliefs? I am so sick of Britain being slated, but if we ask reasonable questions back we are racist!!! Can any one explain this?? And why is it wrong to name a teddy Mohammed but it’s ok to burn our flag in our country.
Not tarring anyone..just trying to understand his reasoning and others..not all. I actually play badminton with his wife, who is also muslim. She tells me to ignore him. It’s just his ways, and she doesn’t agree with him.

The UK needs to grow a backbone and have more respect for itself as a country. Britain has a great history and culture, and backwards immigrants shouldn’t be threatening it’s future. If an immigrant can’t so much as respect the country he’s living in, he should not be there in the first place.

I say this as a first generation American with immigrant parents. My parents missed their home country (and they still do 30+ years after immigrating), but they never found an excuse to slander their adopted country.
